Spring Reflections

The blue skies reflected in this lovely window illustrates the quickly changing weather of Spring in Chicagoland.   Here's how our week ended...

 From thunderstorms and hail...
 to bright sunshine.
 Beautiful sunsets,
 to blinding snow squalls.
Popcorn snow and thunder.  We had all the extremes of weather from Thursday through Sunday.
For a while the sun was warm and the winds were mild.
The earth still cold but waking up.
Reflections of the blue sky on the water...
 Irresistible to photograph...
Rain brought the the grass back to life...
and a nap under the warm sun seemed like the thing my sweetheart wanted most. (This guy is never serious in a photo;-)
These photos are from The Grove in Glenview, Illinois.
Our daughter and granddaughter were invited to a  birthday party close by.  I knew exactly how  we could spend a hour or two... My hubby and I walked a while and talked, enjoying one of those mini vacations we treasure so very much. An hour  or two in nature renews the spirit and comforts the soul.

We enjoyed the girls company all weekend. There is a book to be written about our time with our granddaughter.  She is so funny and says things that blow our minds.  Just as an example...I bought a basket for a bicycle (at the thrift), that I do not own...yet.  This basket was claimed by Penny.  Her explanation, "Grandma you're NOT a teenager!"   Penny's Mom tried to convince her that the basket would not fit on her scooter, to which Penny replied, "It's for when I get a bike!"  I could not stop laughing.  Maybe you had to be there. ;-)

Today will be a very special day in our family.  A new baby, a great niece is scheduled to arrive today.  The little bird and baby bug will both be big sisters, and our girl will have another cousin.  Four girls, what a blessing! Our family grows by one, and in love exponentially!

"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty and charm and adventure.  There is no end to the adventures that we can have if we only seek them with our eyes open."  Nehru

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy this beautiful day.
