Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer

The cosmos are in full bloom and summer is too.  Fun times for us include evening concerts at the Gardens.

Outside of my favorite English Walled Garden, the flowers are lush and the colors are vibrant.

The concert, a rock and roll cover band.  There is a dance floor in the  pavilion that was filled with folks young and old dancing to the oldies.
Of course I wasn't going to just sit with all this beauty surrounding us.

Making memories on these beautiful summer evenings.

Things are growing and blooming at home too.
 Annabelle, Endless Summer and Zinnias.

We'll be having a summer tea party shower for our bride to be.
Weather permitting of course.  Just playing around with vignettes.
 and hoping for the best.
Blueberry Lemon Cake
We had a gathering of the cousins!  Kris and Penny came by and our girls from Missouri too.
When these girls get together, it's a party.  Teya was actually sleeping while these two crawled all over her.
These girls are so much fun, filled with happiness and giggles.
My wild child... trying to get her to stay still for a moment. Their visits are always too short, but so sweet.  Love those girls o mine.

On our block a deer decided  that our neighbor's yard was a great place for a rest.  We occasionally see deer in the neighborhood, but never in the light of day.
They prefer to eat the hostas at night.  This is my kind of neighborhood excitement.

This is crunch time as the festivities creep up on us.  It seemed so long to wait when Mike and Amanda first announced their engagement.  I've been working on so many things that I will share after the fact.  Our shower has a tea party theme too, but a Mad Hatter's Tea Party right out of Alice in Wonderland.  I have all the fun jobs as the future sister-in-laws take care of the food and desserts.
These are the centerpieces I made for Amanda's shower up north, which was a traditional tea party. Teapots,
 sugar bowls and
teacups.  It was my contribution to the shower.
This paper cake I made held our gift...

and was topped with a vintage map of upper peninsula of Michigan, Amanda's family home.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kindness and friendship.  Enjoy this beautiful day.
Love, Penny
