Plant a Rainbow

Usually I choose a color combination for my plantings.  This year I choose a rainbow.  It will be a perfect backdrop for our shower we are planning for Mike and Amanda.
 Yellows and orange.
 Purple and magenta.
 Pinks...
 Vibrant and
 soft.
 Blue and
chartreuse of the sweet potato vine.
Vibrant pink of the stargazer lily.
Deep green of the angel vine and
all the colors that coleus can muster.
I hear that rock stacking is a problem in the wild, but here on my deck it was a victory over gravity!
A few of the projects for the shower.  Amanda has been called Fuzz her whole life.  I use it when Amanda doesn't quite fit and she loves it.

 A peek of another decoration.
Think tea.

Our only adventure was a walk at the fancy pants mall.  These planters are tremendous!
We had a few overcast days and some rain, mostly indoors.  Our broken ice maker sprung a leak.
Luckily, I needed a few things from the basement and saw the dripping before it did any serious damage.  Nothing like having a friend, actually Mike's friend who is a plumber and gave us a house call on a Sunday morning.
Every cloud has a silver lining.  I would not been at home for the close encounter with this friendly Monarch.  It flew circles around me and let me get this close.
Even closer when it was drunk on milkweed nectar.
It sailed with the wind but held on tight to the milkweed.
In my heart, I hoped it was the same caterpillar that started his life on my milkweed that sprung up in the middle of our deck. I like a fairy tale and I love a happy ending.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kindness.
Enjoy this beautiful day. Love, Penny

Our ice maker SPRUNG a leak as well.

Before we discovered it.
Wish “your person” was around to help.
