The Missing Pitcher

Is it me, or are things still a little goofy...and here's my signature.

Rummage Sale Finds

Found some cool things at a rummage sale. Some things I bought individually, others came at the end of the sale in a bag. The small gravy boat with ladle was one of my "bag" finds. Also this vintage Nieman Marcus bag. I thought it might be valuable, but found one on ebay for 15.00 with a shoulder strap. (it's missing from my bag) Sorry honey, you still have to go to work today. The silver plate pitcher was my favorite find. I can't wait to fill it with some of my pink roses. It was a great sale and I bought so many things and spent the low low price of $10.50!

I am in the process of a redo on my laundry room, not because I wanted to, but because my Maytag washer bit the dust after almost 20 years! It was not the best time for it to go, but I'm taking this opportunity to paint and tile my tiny laundry room. You cannot believe all the stuff I had crammed into this small space. Well, when my new Maytag is delivered later this week, it will be into a refreshed and organized space...I hope.

This post was much more interesting before I lost it to the blogger problem I experienced all of Sunday and most of today. This was my first problem trying to post, and I have to admit, I got a little...cranky when I couldn't post or comment. Funny, in a short time I've really come to enjoy the whole process, and look forward to sharing little bits of my life. Enjoy this beautiful day.

Cupcake Favors

We had a production line going, packing 20 cupcakes for favors for my end of the year dinner for my dearest Guild sisters. I found the boxes at Big River Packing, and the label came from The Graphics Fairy, and I was able to customize it in Picasa. These women mean the world to me, each and everyone of them a special gift.
Making something special for them is so much fun, and it was sweet to have my honey help me out. Wish you could taste the peanut butter frosting. Enjoy this beautiful day

Little Bits of Summer

All around the house are small bits of summer. A shell shaped votive holder, a Nantucket basket, and my sand castle. They are all among my favorite summer accents. Glass lends itself to any season. This hurricane gets shells and sand in summer, pine cones, acorns and nuts in the fall. At Christmas snowflakes and snow, and in the spring I had tea light candles, ala Matthew Mead. Every time I sat in the nearby chair, the fragrance of the tea lights had me wondering, why do I smell flowers? The men in my life hardly notice the seasonal changes, but it makes me feel good, and dog gone it, that's reason enough to do it. Enjoy this beautiful day.

Memories of Memorial Day

I never take enough photos, and the one's I took were not very good. (Though that hasn't stopped me from posting a few in the past, okay more than a few...) Kristen, our daughter arrived on Saturday, and I think I just sat down for the first time, it's Wednesday night. It was a great visit, the best ever really. We shopped and talked and laughed and wrangled a few babies. Kris had a sleep over with her 9 year old cousin & saw a show at the Metro with Jon that he photographed. Mike our musician played 2 shows, one right here in town. We entertained almost 30 for a BBQ on Monday, visited with cherished friends and family. The cupcakes were a big hit, death by chocolate with peanut butter frosting. The charming tray is Ikea, but imported from New York. I miss my girl already, I cry every time I leave her at the airport. She tells me, "Don't worry Mama, I'll be back soon." She does visit often, it's just not the same as having her here all the time. I hope to get back to some of my projects, and visiting all of your wonderful blogs. Thanks so much for all the comments. It means so much to me, to hear what you're thinking. Enjoy this beautiful day.
