This is what happens at a Service Night. |
We were honored last year for our support of a local mental heath center. |
That isn't our only service project. With the guidance of our tireless Service Project Coordinator Jean, we touch so many people with our work. At our meeting we read thank you notes from some of the people we remember each Christmas. Residents of a local mental health center received a blanket with hand crocheted boarders, shampoo, soap, dozens of different items as simple as tissues or teabags and hot chocolate mix. The letters we read brought us to tears. They were so grateful to be remembered, that someone thought of them. They appreciated all the little luxuries we take for granted each day. Just one of the ways we are active in our community.
The Women of Guild One are the kindest and most generous women I am proud to call my Sisters. Jean and her hubby Tom are the tireless and generous folks that do the gathering and delivering and so much more. Jean is contacted by a hospital and when they need hats, blankets, sachet hearts...they deliver! Jean, I hope you don't mind my bragging. There is so much bad that happens that gets daily coverage. This is just really good people, doing good in our community. I wanted to share with you my readers, but also to chronicle it here for posterity.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kindness.
Enjoy this beautiful day.
Love, Penny

This is terrific, Penny. I love to hear about people doing things for others and this one is really important. Good work and good fellowship -- a wonderful combination.
