Notebook Hoarder

Hello, my name is Penny and I hoard notebooks!  All you guilty parties say, "Hello Penny!"  I cannot pass up a package of notebooks, especially when they are 10 cents each in October after the back to school rush.  I especially love composition books.  If you know me, you have probably received a decorated notebook..maybe more, because I forget who I give them to.  On a recent post of my favorite blog...The Feathered Nest, Dawn is making notebooks for her students at a craft class she is teaching in Texas.  So I thought, I have NOTEBOOKS, I haven't made any in a while...I'm sitting on some gift cards from my birthday...I love the burlap ribbon Dawn used on the spines... So, this weekend I will make some notebooks!

This is my stash from Archiver's and the Hob Lob.  I needed (wink, wink) more paper, and I got the burlap ribbon, some cool paper tape from 7 gypsies, and some journaling cards.

This chalkboard paper is from the Hob Lob.  Imagine this paper with the burlap binding...

or the chair print with the red measuring tape paper tape...

Oh Dawn, forgive me my copy catting... please have pity on a fellow hoarder! ;-)
Have a great weekend my friends.

Oh my, you do like notebooks. I love them all pretty and covered. You could open up your own shop. At least they are all tidy and in one spot.....unless yo are holding out on us.
Have a great week-end.

You go right ahead sweet girl!!! Copy away! I LOVE the papers you are going to use too :) I have to tell you though, that ribbon is STIFF so I had to totally saturate it with matte gel medium and rub and rub it around the binding of the closed book. I even held it for a minute or so ~ but eventually it sticks :) They did dry and turned out looking great! I can't wait to see your finished books ~ have a wonderful, creative weekend Penny, hugs and love, Dawn

I can't wait to see what you do! Love your papers and ribbons. I haven't done notebooks in years...I may be inspired by you to try again. Have fun playing! :)

I, too, hoard notebooks. Are you surprised? :) I have lists going all over the house. I was an English major and quite a journaler in my day so I have quite a soft spot for them, I guess. Can't wait to see yours!

I have questions for you, if you have time. I've tried the notebooks before with mixed success. My first question is what kind of glue are you using? My cover were getting soggy and bumpy. Also, do the cheapy notebooks work well? I thought the thinner covers would not hold up, but yours look so good. Is there a special criteria when selecting notebooks. I feel an obsession coming on already!
