A little vignette I set up yesterday, playing with a old Coca-Cola crate that
dearest Charlotte brought to me from her Grandparents farm in Indiana.
A bottle from Joy, her Shop the Shed sale has many treasures.
A linen tablecloth for Charlotte, my first pumpkin... I accidentally
tore the vine off while picking zucchini.
Thank you Charlotte, I am so trendy with my
cool coke case. Charlotte is the sweetest
and is so special to me...

We are blessed to live in an area with parks and woods,
golf courses and a trail that follows an old railroad right
of way. We went out for dinner and brought it back to
a spot we call Mount Crumpet.

I had a deja vu feeling of having been here before.
Then I realized, it was the cottonwood trees.
On the banks of the Colorado river

some 39 years ago...
The cottonwood dipping it's branches toward the water,
just like along the river all those years ago.
(Like John Denver who was born in the summer
of his 27th year, I was born in the summer of my 19th year.
The year I first went to Colorado and the
year I met and fell in love with my husband.)

At first I thought this was a fallen branch caught up in the tree.
It was a branch that grew between the fork of several trees,
like an arm around a friend.

Who'd have thunk, just 2 blocks away!
I had a date this morning with the lovely and thrifty
Melanie from Comfy House. I'll tell you all about it
tomorrow and the amazing luck we have when
thrifting together!
Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments.
Enjoy this beautiful day.

Sounds like a magical evening!
Penny, you live in a gorgeous area. Amazing all that beauty is just a short two blocks away. Looking forward to seeing your finds.
So very gorgeous Penny, a wonderful place to walk with your "Mr. Wonderful!"
Such a beautiful post....you are taking time to smell the flowers. I like that about you. You live in a beautiful area. And you know how I feel about Colorado. xo
When did you get down to IN to visit Shop the Shed? That brown bottle is awesome. We sure had a good time today, didn't we? I love our thrifting adventures. I still can't get over your lucky find...what were the chances that that would've happened?! I won't say anymore in case anyone reads this comment before tomorrow, lol. What a lovely park you have by your house. It looks deserted! How nice to have the park all to yourselves!
