Who's Idea Was This?

What was I thinking? Just a little paint... Three weeks later, I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. I have the walls, ceiling and cabinets painted...I still have the distressing and waxing of the cabinets to do, and a new finish to do on the island.

In my younger days, this project would have taken me 2 days, three days max. The finishing will take a couple of more days, and then a couple to set things right in the rest of the house that somehow got trashed during this "quick" freshen up. Easter is just two weeks away.

We walked at the Lake on Sunday. Oh, the color was incredible!

It was cold, more winter than spring, all the ice except some on the rocks was gone. There were quite a few people walking, but we had the beach to ourselves.
We originally went for a ride up north and were closer to home than to the Lake, but this sweet guy turned around so I could have some rejuvenating Lake time. It does my spirit good, everytime.

Another distraction...I hung some clipboards in the living room. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, just took me minutes, including the time to find interesting things to display.

So, that is why it's taking me so long to finish...I rather have fun than to work.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments. Enjoy this beautiful day.

You need to give yourself some more credit...that is a ton of work to pain a kitchen, especially when you're talking the ceiling and the cabinets, too! Your cabinets look beautiful. I want to talk to you in person about how you did it. I would love to paint my cabinets white, but there are so many of them and I really don't know what I'm doing. Actually, I'd like to tear out some top ones too, and install open shelving. That's probably too big of a project for this non-handy gal though. I bet it was brrr cold walking along the lake although it looks so beautiful. What beach area do you usually go to? I love your collection of clipboard art on the living room wall. Just beautiful.

You go girl! I am very impressed with you. My dream is a kitchen with white cabinets. Who knows if I'll ever get it? Love the clipboard wall, too.

It is looking so charming as I see peeks here and there. I can't wait to see the finish line and thrilled you are finding time to walk near the water as a break from your busy days. Wise man of yours . . . to find time away together.
