Liberty of London, Swedish Style

When we were in Brooklyn in May, one morning (before visiting hours, to see our newborn sweet p.) we went to IKEA.  We have an Ikea minutes away from home, but Kris always finds different things at her store.    I found some cute fleece throws on sale and bought a few.  This week my dear niece Em is having a birthday.  She is the kind that is always cold, especially while watching TV.  I thought finishing one of these throws would be a great gift.

I used this Red Heart yarn that seems to match perfectly.

It's a big throw, 47x71" and called Barbro.

This is the matching fabric.  It's called Helle Vilen.  It is definitely inspired by Liberty of London prints, with a Swedish style and price point!  The Ikea fabric is inexpensive as fabric goes, and I think a pillow case to match will be my project for today.

It's raining here in Illinois.  We had a big storm go through last night just about bedtime, and I can see on the radar (don't you love technology!) that bands of storms are again headed our way.  I really don't mind the gloom, but these shorter days make me sad.  Sunset tonight 7:18!  I won't miss the heat of this summer, but I already miss the light!

Thanks for all the sweet p. and poncho love.  It means so much to get heartfelt comments from friends and fellow bloggers I truly admire.  You made my day!  Have a great day my friends.
