I had admit that I didn't have the time to do the usual
spruce tops this year. I did empty the tool tote
I wanted to display them in, but that was my first mistake.
You need soil in the container to hold the pine
and other decorative elements.
The cost to purchase a beautiful completed urn
was not in the budget. Next year!
This is what we came for. A little insurance policy against the cold this winter. There is nothing spruce tops this year. I did empty the tool tote

like a fire on a cold winter's night.
Keeping busy, ticking off my lists. Enjoying the snow. Enjoy this beautiful day.

My front porch urns stand naked. Meant to fill them yesterday but with this weather I think I missed the window of opportunity....too cold and snowy to get me back out there cutting and arranging greens. Sigh. I'm with you on the wood. Luckily we have our own wood chopper who keeps us well-stocked with wood for the winter! Stay warm, we're expecting more of that white stuff tonight! And it looks like that Chicago winter is finally here. (Can't wait for car pool tomorrow morning!)
Can you believe I've passed this garden center a gazillion times in the past 23 years we've lived here and I've never stopped in?! Will have to do so next year. I have a friend who lives right around the corner from there.
I am in the mood for a warm glow in the fireplace too . . . with these temps I'll need a few blankets and some warm cider also . . . can you deliver?
