Cheerful Quilting

Hi Everyone...Well, I said there might be a quilt in my future.  I found this cute and easy pattern here at Sew Mama Sew.  The fabric is from Joann's, from a line by Heidi Grace.  I think the colors and pattern are so cheerful.  The line includes a stripe that I will use to bind the quilt and a graphic print that I plan on using for the backing.

The pattern called Charm Squares Baby Quilt, calls for 38 charm squares.  Charm squares are 5x5 precut blocks that represent a complete fabric collection.  I used yardage, but with a rotary cutter, it took a short while till I had all the pieces cut and ready to sew.

I used a white on white print for the sashing between.

I had so much fun doing this quilt for my grand daughter.  Now to get it to a wonderful machine quilter I know to put it together for me. I have mentioned before that this is the difference between getting the quilt done and it hanging around for years...yes, I said years, until it's quilted.  My own dear son was around 18 years old when I finally had someone machine quilt his baby quilt.  I started  it before he was born!

I'm in the sewing mood, so off to the machine.  Happy February dear friends.  Enjoy this beautiful day!
