Just checking in... Not much to report except snow, snow and more snow. We got out late in the afternoon to clear the driveway yet again. I should have started the winter with a notch in my shovel for each time I shoveled the driveway. We've had 68 inches of official snowfall this year! I don't mind it, really, unless the kids or hubby are traveling. It will be 40 degrees today, more problems when all this snow starts to melt.
Since it was a holiday, my sweetheart and I caught up with Downton Abbey. I loved this week's episode, especially the storyline with Daisy, such a tender moment at the end with Mrs. Patmore.
Then the crocheting... I started this prayer shawl in pinks, greens and white, inspired by a granny square afghan I saw on a crochet site. The colors are not showing up in this photo , but they are very pretty in person.
Loved the ice dancing. Growing up in the Peggy Fleming era, I often imagined what it would feel like to skate beautifully. My brief skating experience at a local park district
outdoor rink, was much more about crack the whip and boys stealing the girls stocking caps than any graceful skating. (As a historical note, I skated in my cousin's hockey skates that my Mom painted hot pink for me!) Davis and White have been skating together for 17 years, they are artists on the ice, and Gold medal winners for Team USA! A relaxing and enjoyable evening at home.

I found the Ice Skating events the most enjoyable of Olympics 2014 . . . so far. Almost over, difficult to believe.
And Snow Olympics 2014 continues with another full blast for Michigan. The kids are going to be setting a new summertime attendance record.
Just heard that we broke another record. More snow consistently since Thanksgiving in 35 years. And our totals are climbing too. Holland must be over 130 and we must have gone over 120 . . .
And our friend Barbie is sitting in sunshine.

Your crocheting is beautiful. Ice dancing...about the only thing I will watch on the Olympics. The skiing and sledding stuff is boring to me. Don't watch Downton Abby, sorry - so I can't comment on that! Well, my day consists of now going to Kohls and Wal-Mart, then a guy from Home Depot is coming to measure Tim's room for hardwood floors, then I have yoga class, then taking a road trip to Wheeling with a friend to get Super Dawg for a late dinner! :-)
Your crocheting is beautiful. I crochet some, but my skill is knitting. Mom taught me how to knit and I have such great memories of us sitting together knitting while watching TV. I can't seen to get my crochet tension even...so what's the trick? I love figure skating, and have been watching on TV, I also grew up watching Peggy Fleming...what a graceful skater...today it's all about jumps. Tonight is the singe ladies figure skating so having it taped now. I love Downtown Abbey and taped it Sunday but haven't watched yet, so now I'm itching to watch it. Stay "dry". Today hubs and I "chipped" away at the ice in our gutters, and our sidewalks are floated. Heavens I hope our dungeon (basement) hold out.
