Yesterday was 75 degrees with sunny skies, today rain with thunder, just 52 degrees. I got out late in the afternoon for a long walk, a little shopping and more preparations for our Easter celebration.
A small girl I know has been wanting a costume, and a costume she will get for Easter.
Along with a crown and gloves, yes, she has to have gloves! Can't wait to see her face.
I did just the minimum of decorating. Loved this idea of a chocolate bunnie in the apothecary jar.
Baked a cake, baked some cookies and one more dessert by request... a key lime cheesecake, an icebox recipe.
A flat of wheat grass planted in a cool crate I found.
Hard to see, but it's sprouted quite nicely.
We'll be taking our basket to Church for a blessing as my family has done for generations. In the basket I'll have Polish sausage, colored eggs, a lamb shaped butter, a loaf of bread that I will bake and some candy for the kids baskets. It's a lovely tradition, one I hope one of my children will continue. I have my basket at the ready, some beautiful vintage linens to line the basket and a bow with flowers to decorate the handle. I always feel close to my Mom and Buscia as I keep this family tradition alive.
This is my 1,000th post. Who'd a thunk? I thank you all for your kindness and support through these last five years.
My wish for you my friends is a wonderful weekend, a Happy and Blessed Easter and love, happiness and sunshine always.
Enjoy this beautiful day.

We always filled a basket for blessing too. Same contents. We did, however, take a lamb cake also. Traditions! Happy Easter dear Penny.
I think that is a charming tradition. I've not heard of it before. Is this something that your church does, or just a tradition of your family?
Happy Easter to you!
Lovely tradition Penny . . .
Happy 1000 . . . five years . . .
I'd have "thunk it" from you!
She, SHE, will be over the moon HAPPY!
