Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow.
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow...
I hated September when my kids were young and school rolled around after the summer went too too quickly. Today I welcome the cooler temperatures, the changing leaves. The turn back to home, inside...hosting, entertaining...family and friends.
A stormy night project, glueing dictionary page leaves on a fallen branch...
The first of two sunflowers that survived a few bunnies in the garden. Is there anything so symbolic of summer, or as cheerful?
Two rummage sale scores, at my very own Parish! We accidentally found out about the sale at the last half hour when things were 50% off. This Eddie Bauer coat rack still had it's original price tag of $99 on the bottom. We didn't see that until we loaded it into the truck...we paid $7.50!
Though there is still a moratorium on getting more blankets for sweet p. I couldn't resist this cute, oh so soft one. Sorry Kris!
We accidentally had a Labor Day party when Jon and Charlotte arrived. Then the little bird and bug came by to visit. I thought everything went smoothly, till I found the stockpot still full of sweet corn... after everyone was full! The day went from a regular day to Holiday...Love when that happens. The pure joy of family!
Back to business, well anyway, my business of homemaking.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy this beautiful day.
Love, Penny

I was thinking along the same lines yesterday. Watching and listening about how busy our kids were with their kids getting into the school year. I felt like I should be doing something. I guess not teaching or working in a school also makes me feel that way. But it was nice to not have to have all of that going on. Does that make any sense at all, hah.
I don’t often comment, Penny, although I do “follow” every post. Today was particularly poignant. A most happy week and ease into Autumn is my wish for you and yours.
Try to remember . . . I love to remember . . . thank you for the reflection.
What a lucky score with that coat rack! Glad you had some lovely family time over this long weekend. :-)
