In the Garden, End of May

It's amazing the difference a couple of weeks make.  The last day of May and the garden is lush.

This may be my favorite pot..a galvanized tub planted with maiden hair fern, baby tears, wire vine and impatiens.  It has filled in nicely.  I'd like to shrink down and walk under the fronds.  It's like a little rain forest, ala Olympic National Park. A friend of mine was a ranger there long ago...
I imagine the smell and the mist...

I'm calling this section of the front yard, Guild One Garden.  Gifts from two dear sisters
the butterfly sculpture and the stepping stone.

Our arbor...might be it's last year.  It's being pulled down by the bittersweet vine on one side ad
the kiwi vine on the other.  I'm a sucker for a variegated leaf.

Dad's bait bucket never looked so good...

or this bucket I scored a while back for a dollar.

What a great combination.

One day we stopped at the local thrift looking for a specific item...
What I came home with was this...
All I need is Toto and a bike to be Miss Gulch!

At $3.99, bargain for sure!

How do you use your old IV pole?  A little lawn art perhaps?
(long story short 1994... hubby was in a bad car accident...shattered hip...
bad infection...nursed him back to health at home...IV pole!)

Really, really miss those guys...

We have been so fortunate to have missed most of the storms of recent days. The sky gets black, we have a few showers, then it moves on.  Feels silly watering the garden when the threat of rain is great, but not much has actually fallen here.  I'll be out, trying to keep up with the weeds in the garden, waiting for the roses to bloom!

Take care my friends, have a great weekend.  Thanks for all the sweet comments, it means so much to me.

I know you miss them. Love those shoes.
I don't know how you do it all.
Love the flowers and that IV pole. Nice use of things that mean something to you.
It does get a little easier. My three year old grandson asks to call me now. He did the other day. He told me about a fish that he caught and that he was going to beat me to the airport and then laughed like the witch on the Wizard of Oz. The rest I didn't understand. Then when his Mommy tried to talk he pushed ever button he could to disconnect us so his Mommy wouldn't divert attention away from him. I will be with next Wed. for almost a month. Can't wait. xo

I loved seeing your garden pots . . . I like the comment of visioning self under the Maiden Hair fern . . . the mist, the fragrance . . .

The "missing" . . . after everyone has gone back to their home is the sad part of the joy . . .

Thinking of you dear lady . . . with love . . .
