All hipsters were at the Penny Road Pub in South Barrington watching their favorite band, Unwritten Truth rock the house.
On the cool scale, my husband and I are so uncool as to be an embarrassment. Yet, our son Mikey the bass player invited us to attend.
So cool to see your "baby" loving what he does. And when the lead singer said, "let's hear it for Mikey our bass player" and the crowd cheered...it was awesome!
The guy at the door told us to go on in, since we were there for the food. I corrected him and said we were there to see a band. I don't know who was more surprised, him or us. Rock on my friends!!

How awesome that he wanted his parents to see him & his band perform!!! He is just so cool!!
Oh gosh, the Penny Road Pub. I haven't been there for many, many years. I'm afraid the guy at the door would also assume that I was there for the food!
You should have told the guy, "I'm with the band." That never fails to impress. In my experience the younger kids are tolerant and friendly. At last that's what I discovered when I attended a Metallic concert.
