Two Little Witches

Meet the witches, little bug...

and little bird.  That's as spooky as I get around here.  The little bird LOVES Halloween.  A couple of years ago, I found her a small broom and a little witch hat.  Pure pleasure, fun and a lot of love, these beautiful little witches.

What do you think about  how Halloween is celebrated today?  When we were kids,
(back in the middle ages...;-) Mom taped up some cardboard cutouts on the windows, mostly pumpkins and black cats. We always carved a jack o lantern.  Now the neighborhood lights up with orange lights, graveyards on the lawn, mummies on the porches.  Pools of blood... Giant spiders...YIKES!

We plug in our electric pumpkin, (no guts, I hate pumpkin guts!) fill up the candy bowl and we're done.  I do autumn and harvest and Thanksgiving...but not Halloween. I've had beautiful pumpkins last well into the new year... Reminds me of in the Great Pumpkin when Linus says to Lucy who is carving a pumpkin, "You didn't tell me you were gonna kill it!"

I don't understand the attraction to gore, zombies, skeletons and such.  Now you answer the door for trick or treaters and you never know what you're gonna get...An axe murderer..horrible masks.  You could blame it on my advancing age, ...but I never liked it.

I digress as usual...  Oh well, enjoy this beautiful day my friends, and have a wonderful weekend!

I always have loved Halloween but do less and less now that my kids are older.

Your little witches are just too cute!

Loved this Penny . . .

I don't get all the horror, guts and gore either . . . I believe in sweetness for the little ones . . . homemade costumes . . . tiny voices saying, "trick or treat!"

Your little witches are adorable . . .

I don't mind pumpkin "insides" though . . . Scott used to cook the seeds in the fireplace . . . They are very good! You have to separate them first . . . from all that goo though!

Happy (electrically lit) Halloween!

I love to see little girls dressed like withches. I do not like to see them dressed as devils or zombies or the bloddy things. Why is that so fun to do, I don't get it.
I have my fall decorations out but not all my Halloween. I am dragging my feet. I need to do that today. Mostly I just add it to my fall things and then remove the Haloweeine things and leave the fall thingies for Thanksgiving.
Have a happy week-end.
